Sixty years ago, Natalie's grandmother was 18 years old, traveling around New York City with her brother, discussing in Hebrew where they were going to stay. A man overheard them and couldn't help but offer them accommodation at the same place he was staying, as Jews often do.

As time went on, being the Jewish immigrants they were, they formed a little family. Manny, Alec’s grandfather, ended up meeting his wife, Irelene. Natalie’s grandmother, Liz, went on to meet her husband, and they had their children separately, only to find out later that they both had daughters the exact same age, Diane and Rachel, who would become best friends for the rest of their lives. But it gets better. These two women had Alec and Natalie, who discovered each other from across the world, knowing from the beginning that everything happens for a reason and that they were meant to be.
